Looking for an economical, compact, Class 2 24V LED power supply for direct-wired outdoor installation? LED Montreal offers this compact and rugged model, ideal for powering outdoor LEDs on a patio, under a gazebo, or in any other environment exposed to the elements.
Thanks to its particularly compact size for a 96W power supply, this model is an excellent solution where installation space is limited. Its sealed metal enclosure and weather-resistant wiring allow for reliable indoor or outdoor installation. Two sturdy side mounting tabs also allow the power supply to be securely and permanently attached to various mounting surfaces.
Due to its high power output combined with its compact size, the exterior temperature of the enclosure may reach approximately 52°C during operation. This remains completely safe, as the power supply is designed for a maximum operating temperature of up to 90°C. For optimal performance and extended service life, we recommend installing it in a well-ventilated area and limiting the load to approximately 75% of its maximum capacity. Not recommended for continuous or intensive commercial use.
This model is particularly well suited for residential installations and moderate or intermittent-use applications where compact size, simple installation, and weather protection are required.
The IP67 Class 2 24V power supply provides a constant-voltage 24V DC output and is equipped with two separate sets of wires for the incoming AC power and outgoing DC power. The 120V AC input includes three 18 AWG wires equipped with self-locking connectors: line (black), neutral (white), and ground (green). The 24V output includes two 18 AWG wires equipped with self-locking connectors: positive (red) and negative (black).
To install the self-locking connectors, simply insert the properly stripped installation wire into the connector until it locks securely into place. To release the wire, turn the connector counterclockwise, as if unscrewing it, approximately six full turns. The wire will then be released and can be easily removed. Always verify connections and polarity before inserting the wires.
Compliant with applicable lighting safety standards, this power supply is certified for the Canadian market and meets Canadian electrical safety requirements.
This LED power supply features built-in protection against short circuits, overcurrent, overvoltage, and excessive temperatures. All internal circuits are protected inside a sealed metal enclosure that is naturally air-cooled.
Important Note: These power supplies are not compatible with AC wall dimmers. To reduce the brightness of a Single Color LED Strip with this type of power supply, you must use a DC dimmer. For installations requiring an AC wall dimmer, please refer to our 24V dimmable power supplies.
To ensure maximum service life, we recommend not exceeding 75% of the power supply’s maximum capacity. For this 96W model, a load of approximately 72W or less is recommended.
Hard-Wired 120V power supplies require connections to 120V wiring through a junction box. Installation should therefore be performed by a qualified professional.
