IP68 RGB LED Strip Kit with Outdoor Driver

Want the best, most colorful outdoor LED lighting setup? The IP68 RGB LED Strip Kit with  Outdoor Driver from LED Montreal is what you need in order to impress all your neighbours! Featuring Super Bright 5050 Chips and using the either the Hanley 60W or the 132W Mean Well Outdoor driver, you can hardwire your strip kit to your 120V power source and install it all outside. The included output wire is 14 gauge, allowing you to use a longer extention between your driver and your controller (up to 15 meters with 14 gauge wire), giving more flexibility on where to get your power from. With its robust cover and waterproof connections and cables, it is your best option to power any iP68 LED Strip kit that you want to install to your patio, poolside, gazebo, rv, trailer, boat, cottage or anything outside!

The basic kit comes with the RF Controller with 10 key remote, which uses radio frequencies, meaning that it doesn't require you to point at the controller with the remote for it to work properly. It is very simple to install and it gives you the possibility of controlling your 5050 RGB LED Strip from a distance up to 30 meters. You can also upgrade it to a Multi Zone setup using the drop down menu. To sufficiently protect your controller, we suggest using a Weatherproof Project Box.

The drop down menus also allow you to pick your prefered length and type of LED strip to perfectly match your needs! The menu offers you 2 types: RGB150 (150 LEDs on 5m) or RGB300 (300 LEDs on 5m). You can then choose what length of LED strip you need.

Please note that you if you choose a 5m or 10m RGB 150 or a 5m RGB 300 kit, you will receive a 60W Class 2 Hanley iP68 LED Driver. If you select a 15m or 20m RGB 150 kit or a 10m RGB 300 kit, you will get a 132W Mean Well iP65 LED Driver.

About the  Outdoor driver: This power supply is rated iP65 or better , which means it is waterproof and safe to put outside. Keep in mind that the connections are not waterproof and need to be protected. The 12V power supplies provide constant 12V current and feature two distinct ports for input and output: the 120V AC input has 3 wire connections: one for the live wire, one for the neutral wire and one for the ground. The 12V DC output features 2 connections: one positive and one negative, provided with 14 gauge wire. We will provide you for the accurate power supply for the kit you have chosen.

Compliant with worldwide safety regulations for lighting, both of those hard wired power supplies have been the electrician’s choice for several years!

This single output power supply has integrated protection from short circuits, over current and over voltage as well as over temperature. All circuitry of the power supply is concealed inside a fully isolated aluminum case that is cooled by free air convection.

Important Note: The 12V power supplies are not compatible with AC dimmers. You will, however be able to dim your Kit with the remote control.

About the iP68 Strips: Note that only the LED strip is water proof, the connectors at both ends of the strip are not waterproof and must not be in contact with water or moisture. You can use extra silicon and heat shrink tube to make your setup safer.

The iP68 strips are not self adhesive, to maintain them in place we suggest using GE pure silicone and double-sided adhesive tape. Simply put the silicone on the back of the strip, then put the double-sided tape on top of the silicone. Once the silicone is dry, your strip is ready to install! Additional option when looking for a sharp and subtle way to hold your ip68 LED strips, the Silicone Mounting Brackets for LED Strips from LED Montreal are a great solution.

If you are looking to install ip68 submersible LED strips to your awning, pool, deck, RV, boat, docks, or anything of that nature, we invite you to read our page on how to install your under awning LED strips.

For every 15m-20m RGB150 kit or 10m RGB300 kit, your package will include a T shape RGB splitter, which you need in order to split your circuit as evenly as possible. On longer circuits like these, some of the colors might tend to go off shade on the ends if power isn't distributed evenly (especially on white and yellow). As for the 10m RGB150 LED strip kit, it is not absolutely necessary to use a T shape splitter, but recommended in order to get optimal results.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since the Outdoor Driver has to be hardwired into the wall dimmer using 110-120V power, it requires to be installed by a qualified professional.

Does the LED strip for the iP68 change colours or do you need to run different strips for different colours?

Can you provide a PDF of the installation instructions for this product (ip68 rgb led strip outdoor) to show how the strip connects to the power supply/controller?

1) Can the LED strip be cut to an exact length?

2) Are fittings available for the LED strip to: a) act as a coupling between cut sections (if answer to above question is yes), b) extend from one portion of strip to another, where illumination will not be desirable (patch cable), c) make hard 90* bends (flat or inside/outside corners), d) tees for parallel runs of strip lighting? If so, please provide part numbers for available customization fittings

What is the maximum distance a circuit of light can be from the driver location (ie hidden driver located 10m from start of LED strip)?
Thanks for the info!

I notice that the 20 meter kits come as 4 - 5 meter lengths. Do the 5 metre strips have end to end connections and if so what do they look like i.e. is there going to be a visible gap in the lights in the strip?
