The Mi-Boxer ML5 is a 5-in-1 controller compatible with modern smart home protocols, including Matter Over Wi-Fi, HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home, all without requiring a gateway. It can be used either as a hardwired controller or with a standard DC barrel connector.
Versatile and powerful, the ML5 can control all types of LED strips: single color, tunable white (CCT), RGB, RGB + white, and RGB + CCT.
The Mi-Boxer ML5 stands out for its broad compatibility with today’s smart home platforms. It can be controlled via mobile apps such as Tuya, or with a 2.4 GHz remote (sold separately).
It offers up to 18 built-in color-changing modes, along with a "Do Not Disturb" mode (enabled by default), which prevents the controller from powering back on at full brightness after a power outage — ensuring comfort in residential settings.
Although the ML5 has high technical capacity, North American electrical code limits its use to 96W at 24V or 70W at 12V. For larger setups, multiple controllers can be used in sync via the auto-repeating mode. These controllers do not need to be physically connected, as long as they are paired with the same remote and assigned to the same zone.
The remote control (sold separately) allows you to manage 1 to 8 separate zones, depending on the model. Multiple controllers can be assigned to the same zone, and all ML5 units in that zone will respond simultaneously, providing consistent lighting control over large areas.
The Mi-Boxer ML5 is ideal for intermediate to advanced users of Matter Over Wi-Fi looking to integrate LED solutions into their existing smart home setup. Installation:
First, make sure your controller is set to match the type of LED strip you are installing. Press the MODE button so that the red indicator lines up with the correct channel setting:
1CH: Single color
2CH: Tunable white (CCT)
3CH: RGB
4CH: RGB + white
5CH: RGB + CCT
The controller will exit setup mode if left idle for more than 3 seconds.
Next, press the FREQUENCY button to select the appropriate dimming frequency. If the product is used in Canada or the United States, the recommended frequency is:
16K at 24V
8K at 12V with a 60W power supply
16K at 12V with a 48W power supply
In all cases, ensure compliance with Class 2 standards.
Pairing Instructions:
1. Connect your LED strip and power supply to the controller. Ensure the strip lights up, then briefly press the LINK button on the controller.
2. Briefly press the " | " button on the remote 3 times within 3 seconds.
3. The lights will slowly flash 3 times to confirm successful pairing.
4. If pairing fails, repeat the steps.
Unpairing Instructions:
1. Briefly press the LINK button on the controller.
2. Briefly press the " | " button on the remote 5 times within 3 seconds.
3. The lights will rapidly flash 10 times to confirm successful unpairing.
4. If unpairing fails, repeat the steps.
Warning:
Turn off power before installation.
Ensure input voltage matches the device’s requirements.
Avoid using the device near large metal surfaces or strong electromagnetic fields, as this may affect remote control range.
