IMPORTANT: This transformer (driver) is not intended for low-voltage LED strips. Powerful transformers (Class 1) like this one are reserved for professional LED applications involving load division through recognized fuses, inspection, and recertification of the installation by an accredited body (UL, Intertek, QPS, or similar). Your electrician does not have the authority to complete this inspection. You can expect fee of around $1000 to certify your project through an inspector.
Make sure to purchase the appropriate driver for your low-voltage LED strips as they must be connected to a transformer with a maximum power of 96W at 24V or 60W at 12V (Class 2) to create an installation that complies with certification standards and the electrical code (no inspection required). The use of transformers exceeding the maximum power voids product warranties and makes your installation unsafe.
This Dimmable Driver comes complete with distinct junction boxes for both the high and low voltage load. Furthermore, the Dimmable Driver includes two integrated mounting brackets, making it easy to securely screw it in place. You will also be delighted by the safety features of the Dimmable Driver: aside from being cETLus certified for usage in Canada and the USA, it also features auto reset protection from short circuits, over–voltage and over-temperature, making it one of the safest Driver on the market.
The Dimmable Driver can be hard wired to an existing electrical circuit, thanks to its 2 junction boxes with 4 integrated knock offs. The sturdy wires inside the boxes give you the opportunity of hooking up a bigger than standard gauge wire on your low voltage line. This is great if you require installing your driver far from your low voltage product.
Hard Wired 120V connections being required for this power supply, installation should be made by a qualified professional.
